Early Snow Continues In Russia
Northern Russia is experiencing an unusually early winter as heavy snowfall blankets vast regions. The north, in particular, is facing temperatures well below average, bringing conditions more typical of mid-winter.
On October 23, the latest cold front swept in, dumping significant snowfall to southeastern Evenki in Krasnoyarsk Krai, among other regions, where more than 30 cm (a foot) now lay on the ground — rare for the month of October.
This early snow has transformed the landscape, hinting at a harsh season to come.
