Greenland Posts Record Snow/Ice Gains
Following the 21 gigaton gain of the previous three days, Wednesday further extended the Greenland 'spike'.
According to Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) data, January 10th logged a 10 gigaton SMB gain on the ice sheet...
...which is record-challenging in DMI books dating back to 1981.
This week's impressive gains have also helped push the season's accumulated SMB back above the 1981-2010 mean, where it has regularly resided in recent seasons, including this season, and where it has finished five out of the past seven seasons.
Despite mainstream obfuscations and outright fabrications, the tides have clearly turned for the Greenland ice sheet:
They appear to have turned for Arctic sea ice, and all, particularly this season which is seeing the highest extent for 21 years (since 2003). At 13.741 km2, totals for 2024 are far exceeding the 2011-2020 average, and are even eclipsing the 2001-2010 average:
