Mexico Cools

Temperatures across Mexico have dropped off a cliff of late.

El Vergel logged a low of -14.6C (5.7F) on Sunday morning—remarkably cold for this time of year.

The area typically sees March lows averaging around 9C (48F).

Feet Of Snow Hit Northern Arizona

An intense winter storm has dumped feet of snow on Northern Arizona, leaving vehicles stranded amid freezing conditions.

Williams bore the brunt, buried under two feet of snow in a single day. Arizona Snowbowl saw three feet accumulate in just two days, while Mormon Lake, Parks, and Ash Fork were blanketed by 16 inches. Flagstaff Airport and Munds Park recorded 13 inches, with downtown Flagstaff seeing 9 inches and Doney Park 8 inches. Deeper accumulations still hit the in higher elevations.

Dangerous driving conditions led to numerous accidents and slide-offs along Interstate 40 near Williams, stranding travelers in the frigid weather for hours. On Highway 89 near Grey Mountain, another accident left multiple vehicles trapped overnight.

Forecasters predict a brief respite through Monday, followed by more snowstorms Tuesday and potentially a stronger system Thursday.

B.C. Burial

48-hours totals up at Pig Alley in Whistler are reading 116 cm (45.7 inches)—with the snow still coming down.

The mountain conditions are fantastic across the higher elevations of British Columbia right now.

Italy's Surprise Blizzards

Meteorological spring has delivered a surprise to Italian Alpine regions: a sudden plunge of the snow line.

The lower elevations were blanketed by fresh snowfall Sunday evening, with areas typically preparing for warmer weather now enduring a return of winter.

Regions such as Cebano —at just 300m (980ft)— and the picturesque Langhe —at 500m (1,640ft)— have found themselves hit with rare springtime snow:

Bossolasco
is enduring particularly intense snowfall, transforming the landscape. Residents woke to stunning scenes of white-coated hills and rooftops, a remarkable contrast to the blooming fields and budding trees that typically mark this season.
