Valle Nevado Wraps Up Longest/Snowiest Season Ever
Valle Nevado, Chile, concluded its 2024 ski season on Sunday, October 20, after a remarkable 143 days on the slopes—the longest in its 36-year history. The extended season was driven by persistent, exceptional snowfall and high demand.
Early snowstorms set the tone, allowing Valle Nevado to open ahead of schedule back on May 31, with full operations starting on June 7—two weeks earlier than planned.
Throughout the season, the resort received some 23 feet of snow, a new record that not only ensured excellent skiing conditions but also allowed for a two-week extension beyond the scheduled closing date.
"This season was truly one for the books," said Ricardo Margulis, the resort's General Manager.
